Location

1302 Adams Road
Bowen Island, BC, Canada
V0N 1G2

The Bowen Island Dog Ranch is located on Bowen Island, BC, and is a 20-minute ferry ride from the BC Ferries Terminal in Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver, followed by a 10-minute drive from the Bowen Island Snug Cove Ferry Terminal.

Getting here:

Take a BC Ferry to get to Bowen Island. Check the BC Ferries schedule or our local ferry website for departure times.

After arriving at Snug Cove, drive 13 km west to the Dog Ranch. Walking is not recommended, as it takes over an hour and is mostly uphill.

Please note: There are no Bowen ferry reservations and there’s a 10 minute cut-off time before any ferry departure. Always allow lots of time when catching a ferry, especially on long weekends and peak sailing times (Christmas, long weekends and summer).

Driving Directions from the Ferry Terminal in Snug Cove:

  • Bowen Island’s speed limit is 40 km/h and 30 km/h in Snug Cove and the school zone just after the intersection.
  • After disembarking from the ferry, move to the right lane before the main intersection by the Bowen Island Pub.
  • Continue straight up the hill, passing the school and playgrounds on your right.
  • Stay on Grafton Road (becomes Adams Road the half-way point), passing landmarks like Artisan Square, the fire station, Grafton Lake, Irly Hardware Store, and the Bowen Cidery.
  • Turn right at the Adams Road sign; the Dog Ranch is about half a mile down on the right.

    Upon arrival:
  • Turn right into the Dog Ranch entrance and park down at the Pup Shack, our lower office. Our main facilities are at the top of the property.
  • Please leash your dog before leaving your vehicle; once inside the double-fenced area, leashes can be removed and the fun begins.
  • If there is no one in the Pup Shack Office, use the radio in the box to notify us of your arrival.
  • Radio Instructions: Open the box door, use a disinfectant wipe and lift the radio out and clean it before letting us know of your arrival.
To use the radio: Hold down the left-side top button on the radio to speak, and let the button go to listen.
    – Announce who you are and the dog you are picking up or dropping off. All the staff on the property have radioes on and will respond.
    – It takes us a few minutes to get down to the office so we ask for your patience.
